General comments

Een behandelduur van 10 dagen aciclovir iv voor Herpes simplex encefalitis is uitgezocht in randomized controlled trials. Gezien er klinisch relapsen zijn beschreven na een behandelduur van 10 dagen is de expert based opinion om 14 - 21 dagen te behandelen.
